Personally I prefer a n/a engine for many reasons.

Hey Jason b I do love the sound of the NA engine,is there any other main reason you prefer the NA other than the stop/start function on the TT. There's a private party seller in my city that has a 11 with only 19k still under factory warranty. . But asking 59k ! No abc,b&o or designo interior . . What would you say?

The sound yes, the N/A sounds much better. Remember it's a 5.5 V8, and you can't hide that fact.

I don't like how everyone is going to TT's. It may sound good now, but those turbo's are going to fail. Even with a warranty, if only one fails, you really should be replacing them in PAIRS, two new ones, when one goes. A Wararnty is only going to replace one. That repair outta warranty is going to cost a FORTUNE. If you fall in love with your car and decide to keep it, a TT is a bad move imop.

Yes, right now these cars are newer, but I wouldn't want to be the one to find out later about the problems when they get some miles on them. I've also gotten 26 mpg highway in the summer with the A/C on. I'd still love to hear some real mpg results with the newer w221's.

What about tunig aspect though. . And I don't believe a lot of ppl fall in love with the s class enough to own it out of warranty & there is a new model to upgrade to. . The N A engine is said to b a thing of the past in German cars I am hearing recently what is your opinion?. 3000 $ ecu tune at renntech can put a TT at amg specs . . .

Have you ever owned one? Don't make that statement so quick.

The N/A engine is bulletproof. If you tune the TT the warranty is gone, then you gotta worry about your tranny keeping up. It's cheaper for Mercedes and BMW to do a smaller engine and TT it. In the end it will cost the consumer more.

I'm just partial to NA engines. Always have been. You will find those that feel the same as I do, and those that love turbo's, etc. But, the best, most bulletproof way to go is NA.

Ofcourse people fall in love with them enough to own out of warranty. What do you think they do with the cars out of warranty? Crush them? lol.. I think you would be surprised how many people own them out of warranty. I am considering a warranty myself, but I also have a friend who owns a MB repair shop, a friend who works at a MB dealer, and access to a wholesale MB parts account. So I am thinking for me, it may be best to continue out of warranty. I figure the 3-6k I would save on the warranty could go to quite a bit of repairs..

Yep, I have been monitoring a thread on another forum where the members are discussing cars with well over 100k miles on them and what they have gone through with regards to repairs. Some of it is extensive, some were not. you roll the dice with any car let alone a complex car like this.

12+ 4.6l twin turbo all the way.
Better MPG, the sound of the turbos spooling up, the acceleration, resale value, etc. i think its worth the extra $10k+~ and thats the only reason wht i went with 2012.

If you really want the NA, i would just get low mileage 2010, essentially its the same with facelift.

By the sound, it is TT model. I also have Eurocharged tune, and i still go into service my S class in dealer without a hickup. Its invisible mode, and its painless to go back to stock platform. Just take the ecu out and send it out overnight.

Sounds like cold start with stock mufflers (possibly sport button pressed = open of all 2 valves)

It is all up to your availability and budget.

I had to drive 16 hrs to pick mine up in OH from FL, though they gave me avg $5k more on my trade and their CPO 12 with 17k miles was too low to pass!

Ya this car is only 50 miles away I could pick it up in an hour literally lol,but I think I will be seeing a significant drop in value next year compared to a 12 ' do you agree? Or will the NA not drop too significantly . .

You are going to lose the car if you don't act quick. Cars this time of year fly out quickly in white, black, etc, with AMG.

Ah, it's a private sale. 19k is low miles and you are paying a premium for that. $53k would be a nice deal. But remember, if you love the car and it's in mint condition I'd pay more. It's not always easy to find a car with perfect leather, good condition wheels, no marks, etc. I did, but it wasn't easy.
