Long time reader, first time owner...
First time MB owner here and I wanted to introduce myself: 35 year old Air Force B-52H bomber pilot currently living in Louisiana. I've had many different vehicles (LS460, Evo X, 5.0 Mustang) and still own and drive an F-350.
I wanted back into the super lux world of driving, and just pulled the trigger on a 2010 S550. I couldn't be more excited. The palladium silver over cashmere S has under 25k miles, premium II, Sport AMG, radar cruise, night vision, split view, rear seat entertainment, and pano roof. Final deal was $42,400 with 3yrs left on extended warranty. I think I made out pretty good. Can't wait to spend some quality time on the road!

Great color, and a lot of options for an S550. Price seems in line given the mileage and equipment. I'm going to refrain from the "thank you for your service" bit. I read somewhere that it's become an inside joke among folks in the military, and they're generally tired of hearing it from civilians. Cool job though. If I send you my dealership's coordinates do you think you could do a solid for a fellow forum member? On a Sunday of course, when they're closed. How precise are those things anyway. Like could you do a surgical strike and just take out the Parts department? I was in there Friday to get a price on a new center console armrest and it was over $800. Thanks!

Btw I come from a family of military and they really appreciate all of the praise and perks they receive when they are recognized in uniform in the states. They feel honored and understand that it doesn't last forever.

Our military volunteered to do a risky job that few will ever understand or appreciate. For those that venture outside the wire, a sincere thankyou is definitely appreciated and well earned.
Forget Hollywood and A Few Good Men. All BS. However, Blackhawk Down did a way better job than all the other movies combined.
I'm out and off the soapbox. Have a good day all!

I had the same issue last summer, the I purchased a small black hand towel matching my interior that I put over the leather and all of the ripples came out and the leather is now again tight and perfect. The ripples come from the sweat caused by ur forearm due to the hot weather so I only use the terry cloth during summer months. The terry cloth I purchased is small and just fits over the armrest perfectly and it actually looks good

Very interesting. I'm trying this now only I'm using an absorbing microfiber towel. In my opinion, these wrinkles instantly detract from the interior. I have given up trying to remove the console lid for now. I can actually get the console armrest to this point in the picture but can't figure out the last step..

Yeah, I lucked out, mine is a MB part. Actually removed the original unit and replaced with this one, not a snap on. Paid $60 for it and, yes, it made a difference in finishing the interior.
