Finally found some time to take some pictures of my facelift project.

So I finally got around to cleaning her up and taking some pictures. Found a nice abandoned strip mall here in Chicago and thought it would be cool to showcase the completed facelift behind some awesome local art.

I am not sure about my wheels. Something about them doesn't truly fulfill a need for a deep wheel. I will say that I have always been after these particular wheels since seeing them. I understand that these are pretty rare and are mostly seen on the S600 overseas. I purchase these used on eBay for a great price. Although the sensors were the wrong frequency I could not pass these up being that they had brand new rubber on them with labels still attached. I feel that they look like 2 different wheels. The 5 double spoked S63 and the black portion looks like an entirely different wheel. The contrast in person is beautiful. At night the wheels play a trick on the eye as well.

Here you can see pictured the updated side mirrors (which I am having a problem when reversing).

Udated headlights from Fishcake prewired to work without multiple ecu and programing.

Carlson style spoiler. Still don't know how I feel about it.

S65 style exhaust that I purchased from alibaba. Tips are a bit different but I think they look great. Sound even better.

Hopefully will get around to taking some night shots soon as I figure out my fog light dilemma.

Love the car. Looks great, but I'm sorry to say that I don't think the wheels work. You can do way better. I think they look cheap.

Depends on the weather
Looks good! I would change the wheels as they don't seem to flow with the car to me but if you like them, keep them...everyone has their own style and taste.

Very true! What I like best about his car is that it doesn't have any badges on the sides.

Nice work! I too am not a fan of the wheels. But again different strokes for different folks.

I actually ordered New wheels for mine (AMG knockoffs) after reading how cheaply made AMG wheels are for the price. They are similar without the inset Black spokes. Personally i think they look good, but they are somewhat common. Try going with a larger offset in the rear too , like 44 (Make sure your bolts are the correct length tho or u will FUBAR your Ebrake!) going like 35 offset in front (Clears amg brakes) and 44 rear, gives a little more concave look to the back without sacrificing any drive quality.

This guy in Los Angeles is where I ordered mine from, Name is Sal, good guy.

The Wheels I ordered have a black Lip (Not gunmetal as pictured) They company that produces these wheels are making a new batch of 35 offsets in october, get em while you can (If u like them) Also, the wheels price without tires is only like 800 bucks + shipping

Niiiiiiiiice your car looks awesome the W221 is a great looking car by far very appealing to the eyes i would take the regular base model S5 but the face lift is the one i Love the most the face lift gives the car a more refined look in my opinion your car is worth every penny you put into it

Btw, did you paint the front bumper? or have it done.

Reason i say is, if you look at the closeup pic above, quite a bit of orange peel there, would have them cut and polish that a bit better.

Rear looks good tho .

Looks good. I prefer the wheels you have over solid black.

Is there an easy way to keep the DRL's on the bright setting with the headlights on?

Probably not, for a couple of reasons....

1. DRL's are LEDs with no lens control, and as such probably do not meet the regulations for night time illumination driving lights
2. Given that they basically blast stupidly bright light, in every direction with no control, your likely to blind oncoming traffic
3. Having blinded oncoming traffic, and in tighter confines may have then had an accident, I suspect you will be held liable for causing the accident by using non-regulated lights
