Front Door Speaker Replacement - Missing Something?
Hey -
I am trying to replace my front door mid-range speakers (HK system in 2007 S550 4matic). I found multiple threads on how to remove door panels...no problem with that. I also found multiple how-to's and options for the speaker itself. No issue there either.
What I can't find, and I must be missing something simple is:
How to remove the speaker assembly itself? The bolts assembling the plastic speaker housing (woofer and midrange) appear to be threaded from inside the inner door panel....how do I get to the heads of the screws holding the mid-range itself in place?
(I am assuming I have to remove the large, inner door panel with everything mounted to it, but I can't seem to find how to do so...)
What am I missing?
Thanks,

I have this same issue. What do we secure the new speaker after removing the rivots?

Konigstiger - thanks!
Mercedesbenz55 - amazon search: Stanley MR77C Swivel Head Riveter & appears to be 5mm / 3/16" dia. rivets with 1/2" holding range...(revised up from 1/4", speaker bracket is thicker than I estimated)
kn51 - yep, in hindsight seems clear e.g..just non-intuitive design IMHO
