S550 aux install
I am trying to get an Aux installed for my 2007 S550. I contacted the dealership (Park Place Mercedes) in Texas. Originally they had 0 clue what I was talking about or how to do it. After research they finally called me back and told me it would be about $500 and that's with my MB employee discount. Could someone help me out with a Specialist in the Fort Worth Dallas area that could hook me up with an aux cord and reprogramming?

I'm actually working on a DIY for this myself. Gonna post it in the next couple weeks once I get all the needed things for it. I've also checked this forum so thoroughly and found nothing for a reasonable aux solution. So far this DIY is costing me $5 :p
Find someone to code the aux option into the car and hit up an audio shop to install aux. What I'm doing is taking a 3.5mm to RCA cable, cutting the RCA plugs off and connecting the wires directly to the amp of the car.

Earlier this year, these guys quoted me $300 installed with their own module, wiring, BT over the air adapter, and programming to turn on AUX. If you're not in the Chicago area, they sell their parts either directly to you or other stereo installers around the country. They have a great reputation on several forums.

Guess I forgot to mention by amp I meant the thing that plugs directly into the back of the comand unit. With all the wires. I connected the 3.5mm to my phone and played some music, left the car in aux mode, poked the wires around in the holes in the back and the music worked! I just need to figure out a way to run the wire into the centre console for easy use and then crimp the ends so it stays in the comand unit.
Thanksgiving weekend for me so maybe I'll get to time to do it. I'm excited since I could not find a reasonable solution for the longest time haha

Newbie
I had ordered a harness off of eBay and wired it up a few months ago, I never got to go get it coded as busy season at work picked up. I had initially looked at Park Place Grapevine (North Texas) and they quoted me n astronomical amount also. I was rear ended a few weeks ago and took my car to Park Place BodyWerks for the repair. I had chatted with the guy handling the claim about it and Park Place Merc Ft Worth has a tech that can do it and it would be included in the claim. I get back home and pick up the car on Thursday and I can verify how much and if it actually worked.

I did an audio video setup yesterday on an 07 S550. This S550 did not have a back up camera system so I installed one with an additional video input to mirror image and play audio video from his smart phone. Had to add new wiring to the harness.

NTG3 does digital audio via unique system and very little aftermarket kit exists / works (e.g NO dension stuff at all !!!)
its supposed to have Aux input via an ipod integration kit on NTG3 head unit (2007 to 2009) expensive and very rare,

a 3.5 jack here
