W221 S65 Muffler delete

Hi all

Had anybody done a muffler delete on an 08 S65?

I am wondering if people have removed the small resonators too:

I would be interested in doing this but cannot have any drone, did the same on my CL55 and the drone was ear shattering!!

Would be great to avoid having them removed and then put back in again...

Much appreciated.

I have been considering doing this on mine, even got a custom y pipe made however I haven't done it yet. It shouldn't be as loud as the 55 since the turbos already muffle the sound a lot. I always imagined it would just be deeper and louder on the top end, otherwise normal. maybe check out the sl 65 section for more details!

Agreed, the 55 was SO loud, It resonated so badly inside that I couldn't stand it.

Also agree that the turbos should quieten it down, but I must say, its not that quiet stock on the motorway.

I did the muffler delete and left the resonator in place on my W220 S600, it sounds good.

Not really since the resonators are still in place

All done and all good. Sounds great, not too much background noise when cruising unless up a steep incline etc!

Lovely.

My CL65 is straight piped and there is a mild drone at 62-68, but above 70 it is is so quiet the sound is just enough exhaust noise to know it's there. If you spend most of your time in the 60-70 range I'd keep the resonators.

I also have an S65 and am looking for a little more pipe. It was recommended that I do a downpipe cat delete and that should get the sound I am looking for. I was planning on doing a tune at the same time.
I have spent a few days trying to research options and it does not seem like there are any aftermarket bolt on options.
Please post a video of the muffler delete if you get a chance.

I did a muffler delete on my 2012 S65. Sounds great. No drone. Couldn't be happier.

I just did it to my 07. It's deeper and louder on the low end. I'm about 70% sure I don't have resonators.
