Unhappy Tire Wear

We drive a 2014 S63 AMG and currently have just shy of 10 000 miles.

I am pretty fanatic about tire pressure and if anything keep my tires a little over inflated.

However, it would appear that the front tires will need to be replaced with significant wear on the outer edges of the tires.

This are the original Continental tires.

What has been your experience with tire wear on this car?

Thanks

Jurgen

Any new 65 (used for daily commute/wkend mtn twisties/lots of aggressive mid-range accel but no 0-xxx stoplt posturing) needs new rear tires after <8K mis (abt same time as annual oil change for many)....and gets traded in before end of 2yr lease....part of why new AMGs are so cheap, low-mtce 2yr leased utilities/toys, kinda like phones

Not sure what are wear characteristics of tires of an AWD 63....suspect bigger issues are the POS MCT rather than the tires

These are heavy cars on soft rubber and they don't last very long. If you over-inflate the tires the excess wear should be in the middle, under-inflated tires wear out on the outside. There are two tire pressure settings in the fuel door one for full load which includes 4-5 people and luggage (higher PSI needed) and one for lighter load (lower PSI).

If you are inflating the tires properly and according to load and your tire pressure gauge is accurate then you might have an alignment issue.

I check and adjust tire pressure on all of our cars every Sunday and the S Class (have had 4 of them) tires last 12-13K miles. In my case the rears wear out faster than the fronts.

Conti Will usually last this long.

Replace with Michelin super sports and the tires will last twice as long and a much better performance to boot.
