255/40/19 Opinions...

I am curious if anyone has successfully driven on a 255/40/19, Pilot Super Sport for example, on stock 19's. I am currently at stock ride height in my 2010. I purchased the car and it has 285/35/19 PSS in the rear, which I love the look and drivability of. Regardless of a speedometer reading slightly off, are there any other potential issues I should be aware of if I go the 255/40 route in the front? Fender Rubbing, Cruise Control Malfunction, etc.? Any other items possibly get thrown off?

I have compared specs on TireRack and the 255/40 matches up great diameter-whise with my 285/35 rear. My 255/35, even though stock, just feels a bit too short and narrow.

Thanks for any and all input.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Prefacelifted ones are RWD so sizes like that for the front will never cause any malfunction as long as they don't rub. However, handling will be affected by the slightly larger sidewall and slight increase in height for the car.

I went with Michelin PSS in 265/35 in the front and 295/30 in the back and am happy with result. If you are looking for comfort the 255/40 is a good option.

I believe some of the electrical sensors are actually on the front wheel spindles. At least on my M5 and E55 they were.

I appreciate your input. I saw your thread. I love the 285/35 in the back so If I can get my hands on a used set of 255/40 here in next few months I'll give them a shot. I think it will really give the car the tall meaty look it deserves.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
255/40-19 is 27". There's zero chance of it fitting front of W212, but 245/40-19 might be possible (with occasional rubbing).

Thanks for your input. I am currently on a 255/35/19 at 26" diameter and feel like I have an extra 1/2" to play with. What would it rub? Upper control arm, or wheel liner / fender when turning? I am just unfamiliar with the geometry on the W212, but I know it is not similar to my W211 E55 front suspension.

I am running a 26.9" tall 285/35/19 in the rear.
