Bargain E63 Rotors?
Anyone heard of these or used them? Our stock iron rotors are just that, not sure why we have to pay $800 for them, unless there are other issues that these rotors can't deal with.

$101.00 each?

Thanks, I am going to pull the wheels at lunch and see if I need rotors, at least I won't faint if I do!
Appreciate your speedy response, Sir.

Wow, that seems like a good source for bargain rotors. It looks like the site also has a non-performance one for even cheaper. Please report back after you have them installed.

Y'know the price on the weblink above is pretty much standard with most cast brake discs for other marques. I'm pretty sure they're doing just fine without using two piece rotors.
It's not so much a safety/quality issue with these being cheap. It's easier to make them in big quantities and sell to masses. The downside is their weight vs 2-piece rotors and other factors such as heat transfer/retention. However for the motorist on a budget, these will probably be able to stop the car as well as an MB single piece rotor.
2-piece rotors are expensive because of a number of factors (demand, tooling, complexity of construction). Sure they might have a slight advantage in safety because of the lower unsprung weight, but that doesn't then make the cast disc unsafe, as such.

You're absolutely correct,
1-piece Rotor will work good,
but along with being lighter, 2-piece Rotors with separate aluminum Hats got better leverage to help dissipate heat, hat will help stay more cool,
for many reasons, that will not directly heating up the Hub & steering knuckle, then ruined up your bearings under sustained heavy braking..!,
also, when your 2-piece Rotors rings go bad, you can simply replace the rings, while retaining the hats,
replacement ring is soo cheaper than one complete 2-piece Rotors,,
and depend to your driving style, 2-peice Rotor is definitely an improvement over 1-piece (for reasons stated above), but not really necessary if you mostly have soft leg in pedal, unless if you plan to heavily stop all day long..!!

It's ridiculous that MB or Brembo wouldn't sell just the rotor ring for the oem front brakes. What a waste of resource and money to replace the hat with every rotor change.

Yeah sure, Rear Rotors comes in 1-piece..!,,
don't know why MB not reinforce them in 2-piece, with some of their most powerful models..?!?!?!
love the 2-piece Rotors in Fronts & Rears, looks amazing..

Are the 1.5 piece front discs the same as what comes on the P31 C63? They have a different part number but look identical. I ask because I replaced them on my P31 C63 with Textar discs for the standard C63 & worked well. Yes our E's are 400lbs heavier but for the average driver, they'll do & are cheap.

So 2) is the true 2-piece, then. I think 2) was on MY2010 and MY2011 but not after that. What construction makes 1) considered 1.5-piece? In terms of price for oem rotors, does that mean 2) > 1)? IMO, 2) looks more bada$$.

MB also provides ceramic brakes for all "63's" from 2010, including all "Bi-Turbo 63's", with code: "B07" or "B99F",,
cause they're interchangeable to each other..

Why does Cquence only make the rear rotor? Is it shared with other models or something? I mean a customer shopping for the rears would normally be wanting the fronts too.
