Should i go lower?

I recently lowered my car and it looks fine i think but everytime i see another lowered merc mine seems still kinda high. Mine i think looks like a sport package out of the factory look especially compared to before its much better but nit sure if i need to go lower. I put a couple of pics just in case what it looked like before and what it looks like now. Whats your opinion should i go a tad lower.

I don't think you have trunk big enough for all those board you will need to drive over the curb.
My newly purchased W211 is in pristine condition beside lower spoiler that got beaten up on curbs and at one impact the mesh went missing.
I wish the car would be build with bigger clearance.

As it sits right now it clears parking space curbs by a couple of inches if i dont go to far underneath the car. Example photo attached. I have noticed the non airmatic sport package ones sit low so i know scraping can be an issue sorry about your spoiler.

What are you trying to achieve by lowering it? Did the factory make some mistake?

There's plenty of reasons not to lower it, very few to lower it.

Did you get the car aligned afterwards? Tire wear will probably be worse. You're more likely to bottom out. I've scraped the front bumper pulling into a parking lot and mine is the standard factory height. There's also lots of potholes around here so I wish it actually had a bit more clearance.

Looks like the curbs where you live are much lower than where I live.
Most our parking spot go against street curbs, where even with normal height MB I am scratching the bottom.
Judging from the fact that I found couple of W124 and W210 tow hook covers at those curbs - I am not the only one.
Than I don't agree with wearing your pants at knee level neither.

Its your car mate, do as you please. It looks so much better when the car is lowered. Not to mention handles so much better.

go lower if you are okay with repairing or replacing front lips, bumpers, lower mesh grille's, and fog lamp assemblies. I drive a 211 and i've done all of the above in a year and a half. There are pro's and con's... you decide which out weighs the other....
summer/warm weather daily driving in DC metropolitan area.....

i was lowered for a while not to mention a godhand lip. didnt have any problems with everything you mentioned. guess it wouldnt hurt to park rear facing curb.

parking isn't the problem. In motion is when issues occurred. At highway speeds...

only issue i had was goin through a steep downslope. i could have gone lower on the front but needed to raise it a bit due to my home garage back then.

Wow thats low well i was thinking another few centimeters not much. Problem is getting the back to drop the amount i want i have to use a razor blade as a spacer in between the bracket and how thin is a razor blade lol. It lowers alot even with super thin washers. I found a thin piece of sheetmetal slightly thicker then a razor blade depending on how it looks with that ill go from there adjusting the front.

that photo was taken from my old basement garage. so it was on a downslope and its barely scraping on the lip. dont know the adjustment with links but i had coilovers then so its easier to adjust the height including stiffness.

i guess what im saying is, go as low as you want. cmriv is right, there are pros and cons but if youre careful, most of the cons wouldnt matter. also, youre the only one who looks at your car everyday, so do as you please.

Lol im sure there are videos out there about pretty much anything you can think of. Point is. Its the beauty of owning your own car, you can leave it as it is, exactly the same as the next door neighbours or how your grandpa handed it to ya or......you can turn it into your own lil creation.

At the end of the day, its not mine, not yours, but his.

Yeah, but decoration, especially on the car has to be practical.
The only mods I do to our cars are wheels (lately added door pins).
My classic Lorinser monoblocks turned more than one head.
Than keeping the car clean make whole impression.
We walk dogs often past small restaurant where owner drives less than 10 years old S. The car is in good condition, but the wheels are always black from the dust.
Comparing to clean Hondas the customers park next to it, the car looks like junk.

Says who? I reckon that rule only applies to your house and your cars alone my friend. Next door neighbour dont have to abide by your rules. I can do what i want with my car and everybody else can say what they what but cant do anything about it.

In my experience, as long as you do it right and safe and by the law, when i say law, i mean govt law and not ones opinion or taste, then its all good. Like i said, others want to keep it stock, others want it lightly moded, others want to go to the extreme, and then theres those idiots in your video.

If they hold me for 10 minutes trying to find right angle to approach their garage, yes they do.

Lol the people who actually think their car is awesome after just putting an aftermarket wheels on em takes longer tackling a downslope or a speedbump coz they think their car is so precious they might damage it. Me, no worries, its just a car mate. But if i see you behind me, ill take my sweet time.

Mine is about 4" off the ground and use the lower CG to suit my style of driving. I change damping to sports mode when driving in spirited style through mountain roads, to eliminate roll and rubbing. The front fender scraps the bottom only on the worst entry ramps but so far has not dislodged anything.

Frankly I don't see much on those pictures.
Either you guys take wrong cars, or wrong pictures.
Found this classic on google.

this weekend im gonna put a super thin piece of cut sheet metal in between the bracket in the rear. Its thicker then the razor blade and adjust the front accordingly, see what happens. The rear is so massivly sensative its irritating.
