Star System????
Might sound crazy... But I would like to configure the car myself in future... Anyone know where to buy the STAR system to configure the car's features, like the dealer uses?. Audi owners could buy VagCom... Mercedes has STAR, right?. Where to buy???

No...
You can't register a module with Audi, but you can configure the car.
I would expect the same with Mercedes....

It's the MBZ Star System.
I'm seriously considering it.
Ridiculously expensive, but might be worth it.
You can apparently initialize modules yourself, configure them, right down to the intricate details.
Might even be better than Developer/Engineering mode in the COMAND module.
I'm trying to decide right now.

Do you recall?
I'm considering one already but would like to compare.
Also, can you explain exactly what you've been able to do, thus far, on your W205???
Ex: Can you disable the Navigation speed nanny to enable entering destinations while driving? What other cool things have you been able to do????

Can't do much with 205 with Xentry (Star Diag was the old name for Xentry on XP as a certified platform). A few things you can change, that's about it. Dealer level access is very limited. A lot of ECUs are completely locked down, even the HVAC. SCN coding is online and without a dealer account, you can't do much.

I have a dealer who's willing to unlock developer mode.
I know this is in German only, but would that provide greater access?

Xentry developer mode doesn't exist for 205. It's all locked down now. Dealer level software isn't what it used to be. If you have a 204 though, sure, you can do a lot with developer mode. 205 switched to the newer backend, that is why it's chalk and cheese.

I'm glad I didn't spend the money then...

With the help of Vediamo you can get past that. You can download it for free but will need Xentry and mutliplexer to get it to communicate with the car.
