Brake Indicator Light - Stays on after fix..?
Hi Everyone, I had the same problem and replaced the front brake pads with after market ones.. That was fine and the light went off.. Now, 2 months later it started intermittantly coming back on/off until this week - it is now staying on... I pulled off both front tires to inspect.. The pads are still new, I replaced the sensor cable wires (4) - 2 each side and got back in to check and the damn thing is still lit.
My question is: Is there any other sensors that are connected to the Brake Light that would force it to come on.
Thanks ahead for any help or ideas.. Otherwise I will be forced to pay to have it evaluated. I could find nothing in the 5-cd MBZ manual either relating directly to what triggers it other than normal pad wear.
Sincerely,
A.J.

before you take it in as a last resort you could try disconnecting the battery and connecting it again. maybe the message has to be reset, which you cant do with a STAR diagnose (or something like that) system.

did you replace the sensors also. I was told that you will want to replace the sensors at the same time. This was from a benz mechanic who is a friend and not trying to sell me new sensors
