r129 vs W124 Lower control arms interchangable?

Recently purchased a 1993 500 SL. Previous owner ran over a large boulder damaging the lower control arm holder. Someone welded the left side and did a terrible job and needs redone. I've read the article on Wikipedia referencing the W124 E500 with 5.0 engine as a candidate. Not able to find an r129 at the wrecking yards. Have found an E500. Have inspected the control arm holder and looks to be the same and willing to cut off and use. Anyone know for sure if this is an interchangeable part? James
