Emergency HARDTOP unlocking
Hi, spend some time reading pdf, watching youtube and reading the forum, but don't see procedure for emergency hardtop removal.
My issue is that I found SL500 on junk yard and would like to take some parts from it, but most cylinders need opening the softop cover.
Beside 4 foot pry bar, is there a way to unlatch the hardtop with no hydraulics?

I haven't heard of that,
But you can try this,
In the front the procedure is the same as latching but in reverse, the problem is in the back, use a friend to do this.
In the trunk with the manual key pull the lever near the cylinder this is the procedure use to latch the top, it let the top come down, while you do this, some one has to try to lift it, to see if it work.
Please repost after trying.

Found procedure on other forum.
Back in the trunk you have sticking out 10mm "noses" that lock and unlock rear locks.
The car special wrench will operate them, or any 10 mm open wrench. Front lock operate with 6 mm Allen.
They changed around 1995 so even I found them on my 1998 model, will have to revise the procedure on 1993 model on junk yard.
Plan to spend whole day there on Monday. Hopefully the roof will be still there.
