85 380sl odometer repair
My odometer and trip log has quit working. Noticed it at last fill up. Have it removed and all gears are in good shape. My buddy feels it is a diode above the 4 wire connector. Does this make sense? I have looked through parts sites for such an item and all I get is gear replacement kits.

My father in law has an 84 with the same issue. Speedo works fine but odometers not functioning.
I tried the reset while driving and it reset but still not working. It seems to click at times.

That write up was great....
The gear I ordered came in yesterday. Already installed on cluster and just finding time to put cluster back into car. The odometer gear that was broken was the one that I didn't have to count thankfully.

Fred, did you ever find a solution? I've replaced my gears and still no action on my odometer or trip meter. I've eyed the same tiny fuse...wonder if you ever figured it out? Thanks.
