First try the correct model name. It is 350SL. There were two versions for 1972. One for the non North American market is 107.043 chassis with a 3.5 liter V/8. The other for North America is a 107.044 chassis with a 4.5L V/8. If not a 1972 year it is the 107.043.

Can check out our parts catalog here for some help with parts. We also have a good DIY tech library here for some help while you work on restoring it.

Your site for the Mercedes R/C107 does not allow links to other suppliers with prices that are lower than yours. I would not deal with the overpriced parts offered by you.

Sorry you feel that way, but we do love supporting MBWorld and enjoy being a sponsor on this forum. If you have specific issues you're more than welcome to voice them to me in a PM. Thankfully, you have the option to buy from wherever you like.

Genuine parts are parts that are acquired directly from the factory (directly from Porsche, BMW, VW, Mercedes, etc.), and actually come delivered in a Porsche or Mercedes box. These parts are the exact same ones that you would get if you went to your local Porsche or Mercedes dealer and ordered the part over the counter. These parts are typically much more expensive than their OEM counterparts because you are paying for the Porsche or Mercedes name and their associated two-year warranty. These parts are also sometimes referred to as OE (Original Equipment). In general, the Genuine parts are the highest quality available, with only rare exceptions where Porsche and Mercedes has outsource their production to non-European countries, and the quality levels have not kept pace with the ones of previous generations. What you have shared is an OE discount website where they offer discounted OE parts.

We are actually currently working on our pricing points for Mercedes right now and working on lowering our pricing. I'd be more than happy to explain how the pricing works via our website if you'd like in regards to the MSRP comment. Feel free to PM me with your concerns and I'll gladly explain how our system works. Otherwise, keep an eye out for our pricing changes coming soon so that we are able to please you, the consumer, more.

I know all that.
I simply posted the truth. I know that the part I showed is original, OE, directly from Mercedes. I ordered one from OE Discount parts last fall. It is an authorized Mercedes –Benz dealership located in Asheville North Carolina. Arrived in the proper Mercedes box. I could have ordered the same part from The Mercedes Classic Center in Irvine, California and received the same part. They charge MSRP and as a MBCA member I get 15% off.
I will continue to post for public information. There is no reason to communicate in private.

Like I said, it's something we are working on and is not as simple as you think. Appreciate the input and hopefully with our updates you'll see better pricing from our end. Cheers.
