Black, actually shows ANY/EVERY possible flaw & is the hardest color to try and hide the smallest of imperfections in JUST a regular paint job let alone any custom body work. Ask any top bodyshop or show car builder (My widebody is gloss black)
The flaws I cited above on the "Side Skirt" aren't from the car being painted white showing the gaps/lines as much as possible lol..
The Side Skirt is malformed & has a double twist running the entire length of the Side Skirt, the twisted ill fitment gets even worse as it carries over to where the door seam meets the bottom edge of the Skirt, IE notice how it's protruding out & not even close to laying flat? VS the front edge of the Side Skirt where meets/joins actual flair, it tucks severely inward etc etc.. Notice the large shadows these flaws make..

@TheRicker Oh I wasn't talking about the fitment issues, anyone can see those. If you go to their website you can clearly see that the first versions were even more awful than that! Look at the front bumper on the photo I'm attaching. SOOOOO OFF from the original and so ugly in general. I was talking about my perception of what colour hides or shows the most flaws. It seems I am wrong though.

you any of you ever consider Veilside? really great stuff, out of all the body kit company I've encounter, quality and fitment is second to none
it's expensive but you really get what you pay for

You mean this one, Spirit?

Historically speaking, the genuine Veilside stuff always fit superbly on anything they made their parts for, but damn have they always been pricey.

Any owners that have done the conversion care to chip in please. I have also other doubts, what about fender liners??? and once the KIT is on what are the wheel options to get the wheels that far out?

usually this kinda conversion, you can buy OEM fender liners, OR DIY, ebay have tons of resource for that
I use OEM liners when I do my conversion, i forgot how much I paid but it's not expensive

Sadly your kits rear 1/4 panels either placed over stocker or just malformed as the gas tank & the door are horribly countersunk due to rear 1/4 panel being FAR too thick vs the rest of car etc etc..
+ as if that wern't bad enough, note how the lower door line doesn't match up to the lower 1/4 panels flair where it's meant to be 1 seamless line from bottom of flair thru entire door to front 1/4 panel, its higher than the doorline by at least 1/2 an inch.. I've seen these same pix before of your kit and cited these same obvious flaws, surprising you would'nt fix these glaring issues & just post old pix here like it's NOT noticable or majorly flawed?

I've found this company called IMPERTI that is based in the Czech Republic that seems to have a pretty good looking Black Series replica kit. They have had a few photoshoots of a few R230's with this kit, mostly russian cars as I believe, and their price is very good.
This photoshoot seems to show that most of the lines are identical to the original kit. The car really needs a drop though. I think I'm getting this one.
Also, something that every EU owner always looks for, as these kits are produced in the Czech Republic, the shipping price to my place will be VERY low than any other kit produced in US or China, so that's a huge plus as well.

It goes for £2800 on UK's ebay. Thats €3500 or $4650. This includes 23% tax (I suppose), so if you can deduct that, I guess that's the best price around.

You're right. I guess no Black Series replica will be too close to the original. Partly due to the different suspension and wheels setup (and "stance"), and partly due to major difference in details such as static rear spoiler, exhausts, and the folding roof.
Using original mercedes parts would be ideal, but that might be the most expensive solution of them all. I guess you always get what you pay for, so the real question comes to finding the optimal price to quality ratio that any of these companies have to offer.
Lets not forget though that using a reputable and good body shop might be more important than the quality of the parts. I've seen body shops work wonders with very ugly and not fitting bumpers, and I've seen body shops fit original bumpers very badly.

I really thought it was dejavu with the vendor posting and then sean (the ricker) repeating his exact same, spot on observation.
Sean was spot on as he always is; in his perfection of detail. I am surprised the vendor ignored his previous post then posted the same pix again. WoW.
