Rear window side trim in Canada Help!
Looking to replace the passenger side rear window trim on my SL 55 2003. Went to stealership in Oshawa Ontario and was quoted $600. $109 for each side sold only in pairs and over $300 for mounting hardware because of the new upgraded panels. Not the same as currently on car.
Tried to get the panels from 6 different Mercedes parts suppliers in the U.S. and not one of them will ship to Canada. Haven't been able to find a Canadian supplier. I'm unable to change a $100 part.
Any body have any good ideas?

Hope this helps.
Below is a copy of a PM from another R230 guy with the same issue. My response is below.
They are easy. The only caveat would be to be patient and a bit careful when installing the new trim pieces. If you get in a hurry, all of the tabs may not lock in properly. If that does happen, gently slide the trim back up and off and start again.
I did a DIY on this a few years ago here it is:

The links to the photos in the DIY are all broken. You can find the pictures here:

Finally, if you have not bought the trim pieces, the best price I have found is at http://www.oediscountparts.com/ I have bought a number of parts from oediscount as have a number of members. They seem to have the best prices and we trust them.
You will be very happy you replaced the ugly delaminated trim pieces.
Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

Hey Steve, if OEdiscounts won't ship to you we might be able to work something out where I buy them and ship to you. You might consider changing out both as the new one might make the other side look bad. I have done this for a member that lives in Sweden. PM me for details if you wish.

Hi Cal1
Thanks for the offer and opinion that two may be smarter than just one. I've emailed oediscountparts to check shipping. I'll wait and see. THX Much.
