Question SL 65 Engine cover removal question

Are there any tricks to taking the cover off or do you just pull up to release clips, etc? Any tips appreciated......thanks in advance.....

Shame on you, you have this car for a while haven't you? LOL, Anyway, start in the front with the metal portion, pulling it straight up slowing, then the back has 2 larger pins attached that will slide out (closer to the firewall). After that, lift the carbon fiber portion the same way, there is a bit of tension, but it will release, making a little noise. Same thing to re-install. As you push on the carbon fiber piece it will make a snap sound as it secures itself. Its very straight forward, simply center over the oil filter and it will go on.

Thanks Racehorse.......yes I have had it for some time, love it.....but never had to take engine cover off myself due to warranty work on other stuff under that thing being done by my indy and he once said something about it being a *****......thanks for the details because the V- 12 always has some type of special handling))

Not out of love yet......Not a bad idea though, but car is so smoking fast as it is....)
