A/C button flashing after A/C recharge.
I recently recharged the A/C on my 99 Toyota Camry because the A/C wasn't blowing cold enough air and it was uncomfortable to sit in the car during the day. The system was recharged and works fine after recharge.
About a week later, I noticed the same problem on my 2003 SL55 AMG. The temperature of the air with the A/C on wasn't as cold as it should be, and it was uncomfortable sitting inside the car during the day.
Therefore, I took my SL55 to a local mechanic shop to have the A/C recharged. After they recharged the system, they pressed the A/C button to turn the A/C on, and the button just blinked. The A/C did not turn on. Every time the button was pressed, the red light on the button just blinked, and the A/C never turned on. It wasn't doing this before I went to the shop to do the recharge. The shop couldn't figure out the problem. and then told me that they wanted to charge me more to have a "Mercedes specialist" come look at the car.
I decided that I did not want that shop touching my car anymore. Do you guys have any ideas of what's going on here with the A/C button blinking? It wasn't doing this before I went to the mechanic shop to have the A/C recharged.

I had the same issue (blinking red light). I had a bad sensor changed that sits inside the dash and it fixed the issue. Maybe they added too much refrigerant. Take the car to an indy Merc shop and have it diagnosed correctly.

How much was it to replace your bad sensor?
Also, what is an "Indy" Merc shop? Do you mean a Mercedes specialist?

Not sure of the exact amount, but it was a few hundred. Labor was 2 hours or so. Yes Mercedes mechanic. Someone that has experience working with the SLs AC system. It will save you time and money.
