DIY For Coding Out ABC on R230 Cars
So I had a few PMs on how to code out ABC so I thought I'd make a thread. Big thanks to Jeff and Russ at RMT for walking me through real quick on the process.
So to do this you need a Star with Developer mode to do this mod. Hook up SDS to your car and when it reads your car and select Control Units, pick Information and Communication and you will see ICM
After ICM you will see Control Unit Adaptions
From there pick the year of your model
From there pick Special Equipment
Pick ABC
Then go to the drop down tab and change it from PRESENT to NOT PRESENT, and click F3. After that turn off the car with the doors closed. Wait 1-2 mins and start the car back up and no more ABC codes, no white or red lights.
Note this is only for R230s not any W215, W216, W220, W221.
Admins maybe make this a sticky lol

so far, in setting, I was able to set my cl600 to AIRMATIC instead of ABC
interesting.. as my cl600 was never build with airmatic right ?
I did this by choosing SPECIAL VEHICULE
let's investigate more...

2002 S430 had air so it would have an airmatic setting for for w215 if the w220 and w215 shared a bunch of parts in there system which I would think they did.

Out Of Control!!
I think that you are trying to fool yourself---based on your screen shots your VIN does not have ABC(NOT PRESENT)---how the hell do you code out something you never had!
Do you have SA code 487 in your VIN??---yes or no!

Every 230 SL and 215 CL sold in the US, with the exception of the Black Series, has ABC. The 230 SL 350 did not have ABC but I don't believe they were ever sold in the US.

I have tested what he did and it's true, on his 2006 65SL, you can disable ABC
on my 2003 CL600, until now, I could only switch from ABC to AIRMATIC

So the vin is pretty much in all the screen shots, and you can look it up your self thats a 2006 SL65 AMG equiped with ABC, all R230 AMGs had ABC no matter what unless it was a black series. The SS was after I selected Not Present, but before it showed Present. I don't think I'm fooling myself if I'm actually one of the very few people out there with a coilover SL65 conversion and SS are there to show the process, If you have a R230 and SDS you can do this your self, its literally less than 2 mins once star reads your car, and no trying to translate anything in German its in Plain English. And if you look at my past post with pics of my car esp the engine pics when I did my heads and turbos there is no question my car is an SL65 not some SL350.

There you go more then enough proof this was originally an ABC equipped car. I mean if that doesn't convince you then idk what to tell you but my car is 100% ABC coded out on my SL65

So to answer your question when you select ABC "NOT PRESENT", turn the car off and on for 2 mins, and then try to access the ABC Module on the car via Star, it will refuse to access the module since it says its NOT PRESENT. Before when it showed present the car would show a bunch of error codes, when I plugged the module still but everything else was out. Once you hit NOT PRESENT star will refuse to even bother trying to read your ABC Module.

Handles alot better. Ride isnt bad but you will feel the bumps on the road. My coilover over setup is 30 way adjustable and I still have 3-5 more clicks on the dampeners and alot of room to lower or raise the car. The VVK Springs will support the weight of the V12s and I noticed RMT partnered with VVK on selling there adjustable setup. I still need a front sway bar but to be honest on normal driving and highway speeds and turns I dont notice anything that makes the car feel unsafe. But when I have time I do plan to go to FL to get this front sway bar made unless someone wants to use there v12 to have them mock one up. I think best thing about it is how much more realiable it is I constantly took care of my SL65 but so many hoses started givin out I gave up plus I prefer to daily drive mine since these cars tank like a rock. Best example my 3rd ABC pump gave out in the 4th year of ownership but I had a 200 mi drive back to DC from NYC. No more worrying about abc craping out on me during road trips. Also removed alot of weight from the car, prob an easy 100 lbs

I hit over 300 Kmh on german highways, so we will see if I kill myself without sway bars right ?
anyway, i'm working on that too and swapping from another model doesn't seems to be a drama
I also go for adjustable coil overs. they will be here in 7-9 days.

I left the phone number on one of the other threads, but it looks like RMT sells VVK kits now. The number is +15615422810. If you cant get a hold of Sean call RMT and ask for Jeff. Tell him Faraz gave you the info he knows about my SL65 and he wanted to mock a sway bar on the VVK kit. Im sure if RMT is selling the kits they must be working together now.

I didnt see the whole install in person but when I saw the end results the rear sway bar had no issue. It looked like it was bar attached to the bottom then the bar goes up then bends into the car's frame then it bends back down. The axle had to come out for the install but it had no issues with clearance in the back

Hey folks,
need some help with coding out ABC on 2007 SL65.
We did the above steps and the car took the coding, but there are still warning lights on the dashboard. When we scan it again ABC shows as "NOT PRESENT". Any ideas?
