Back with AMG. Goodbye Porsche 911 Turbo S and Hello SL63 AMG!!!

I just traded in my 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S for a 2013 SL63 AMG with P30! I got the car 4 days ago and I can honestly say it is the best AMG I have had to date and I have owned a lot of them. The fit, finish, and engine are amazing! I could not be happier. Only a few small problems that I noticed after I bought the car and took it home. The rear bumper has a small gash in it that I originally thought was bird sh-it. The from bumper was curbed a few times that cannot be seen because it is underneath but one extended a little high and is slightly noticeable if you look carefully. The steering wheel leather is scratched most likely due to a watch rubbing on it. Oh well, all fixable stuff and I am going to have all repairs completed in the next few weeks. I am pulling both bumpers and having them repainted as I am super **** and want the car to be perfect. The paint everywhere else is flawless. I am getting carbon fiber mirror covers, hub centric spacers to bring the wheels out about 20mm in the rear and 15mm in the front, and some new high flow air filters. The car is fully loaded with performance package, Bang & Olefinson sound system, and a RennTech edu upgrade. Only option it does not have is carbon ceramic brakes. I love the transmission and the car is so comfortable when you are just cruising but turns into a beast when you get on it. Nice stock exhaust sound. Car is amazing and I could not be happier. I will post some pics after I get all repairs done and mirror covers on.

I will changing my signature picture shortly...Lol. Happy to be back with AMG .

Welcome. I did the same thing, bought a CPO '13 a few months ago and love this car. It does everything you need it to...

Post up some pics of your new ride.

Thanks and congrats on your purchase also! I absolutely love this car...best AMG that I have owed. I Cannot believe how much better it drives than the R230. I had a 2005 SL600 and there is no comparison!

I promise to post pics soon!! Thanks again for your kind words and welcoming me back :-).

^ thanks.

I wasn't really looking to trade the CLK63, but when I found this car I just couldn't say no.

Understood and agree with you. The CLK Black is amazing but the 6.2 63 engine just does not do it for me. Good choice to get rid of it.

I can't believe the R231 AMG does not seem as popular as the R230 AMG. The improvement of this model is huge! I have never been so satisfied with a car to date. Mine came with a RennTech tune and it pulls like a train. Are you satisfied with the stock power? The way it is now is just amazing...an absolute rocket. Plus I love the rev matching of this transmission...perfect IMO.

I have the PP and carbon ceramics, and it pulls great. With a tune it must be absolute freakshow :-)

Can you speak more about this? I just posted in the R230 forum asking about recent R230 SL63's vs. R231 SL63's.

Also, what made you give up the 911 Turbo S?? Isn't depreciation much worse with our beloved Mercedes? Or do you not care

One thing is for sure, you get alot more car for the money with a r231 (than the 911 OR THE R230)

Can you define "you get alot more car for the money" exactly?

Unfortunately the R231 looks like it's a bit of a stretch for my budget. But I keep looking ...
