2013 Gullwing sold for $185k (hammer) at Mecum this weekend in Kansas City. Decent options, low miles. #2 result for their entire auction.

I'm beginning to think the "trucar" calculator of prices is inaccurate. Here's an update on the SLS 2011 numbers I have been tracking. "Average" actual sale price (according to them).
Dec 2012: $155K
June 2013: $148K
August 2013: $143K
October 2013: $144K
December 2013: $144.5 K
January 2013: $138K
January 2015: $124K
July 2015: $130K
April 2016: $120K
So maybe prices haven't hit the bottom, according to them. But is sure appears on the marketplace that the prices are going up.

I'd like to see the data that backs up those numbers. Based on what I see, it's just the opposite.

Yes, I agree with you. Trucar claims to use real data with real sales prices. I know at least one major automobile insurance company uses their data for insurance pricing. But prices have definitely gone up recently, while trucar says they have gone down. I might quit monitoring trucar. No reason to trust them.

My guess is that TruCar has some kind of algorithmic calculation that massages data across big swaths of similar cars. Like Zillow does with house estimates. The truth is that the SLS has been bucking the depreciation curve for nearly 2 years.

Those numbers (2015 onward) are completely detached from reality. If I could get another 2011 for $120k, I'd buy 3 of them.

Is it just me or have prices really taken a leg up? Seems like only a couple of months ago, no SLS (except Final Edition or BS) were asking over $200k. Now, there are many examples breaking above this threshold. There are even higher mileage examples (15k miles+) asking strong money in the $175k range. Amazing.

I'm seeing the same thing. There's an AMG SLS GT going off at Mecum with a predicted range of 325K to 350K. That feels pretty strong to me considering Final Editions (if they can be found) were going for around there as recently as a month ago when I bought mine. Hopefully this will have an effect on all the SLS cars.

Not even that highly spec'ed, just low miles.
