SLS/R197/C197 AMG: LED interior and exterior bulbs

So I know there's some vendors out there selling LED bulbs for the SLS for around $70+ but I just refused to pay that as they're literally just replacement LED bulbs and not housing. Not sure what brand the vendors use but you can buy about 10 led bulbs on eBay for $10. Less for lower quality and slightly more for higher quality. I can't recall which I purchased so I'll have to look into them again but I believe they were Philips or Samsung. Haven't had any issues with any warning lights or mishaps with them. I may replace the trunk with a brighter bulb just for more light back there. License plate looks soooo much better with leds, well everything looks better with the leds. In all there 10 bulbs: 2 for license, 1 for trunk or boot, 2 for leg area interior, 1 for glovebox, 2 for vanity mirrors, and 2 for overhead center console. Here are some pics

Almost 100% certain these are the ones I purchased. I liked how they had a casing rather than exposed leds.

Thanks ....What did you use to "pry off" the bulb covers?

When installing I kept hitting the unlock button so the lights would stay on. If the led doesn't come on right away, take it out, and flip it over. If you're good at getting the housings out, it's should take about ten minutes to do all the lights. Be careful when pulling the stock bulbs out because they get hot very quickly. I used a microfiber towel to pull them out.

You just need a small pry tool to take out the covers and the bulb pops right out/in. If it doesn't work at first, just reverse the bulb. The license plate covers can be a little tricky to get out. There's a small hole on one of the sides with a clip in it, you just have to find a tool you can fit in and depress the clip and they should come right out. Do not force anything though, you can crack the lenses pretty easily and I'm sure MB will charge a pretty penny to replace them. The interior lenses just have a bunch of small clips, just use a typical pry method and work around them being gentle. Also, when you remove the stock bulb be very careful and use a towel to pull the bulb out. If they were on while you were working to remove the covers they will be very hot.

Yup. Just replace the bulbs and go. Some cars will have a cel light come on when you put led in but I haven't had any issues with the sls and haven't read anyone else having issues either.
