Introduction
I wasn’t actively looking for a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG, but when the opportunity recently presented itself I quickly moved to secure this 2012 car. My SLS AMG is painted obsidian black with full red interior, and for me this color combination really pops. The option list includes red calipers, 10-spoke AMG wheels, and carbon fiber interior trim pieces.
My initial impressions of the car are that it drives like an E-class in traffic, but when the road opens up smiles are sure to follow! The naturally aspirated V8 engine also makes me grin with each start up as does its instant torque for merging onto the road. Coming from a 911, the SLS AMG feels big at lower speeds, yet when the pace picks up its proportions are just about right. On the road in the San Francisco Bay Area the SLS AMG doesn’t appear to attract much attention, but once those door open up, people seem to flock to the car. I wasn’t expecting that reaction!
On my to-do list are:
1) Wash, polish and wax (done)
2) Condition leather interior (done)
3) Purchase trickle charger (done)
4) Bring service up to date (done)
5) Evaluate 3rd party Extended Warranty programs (nearly complete)
Thanks for reading!

Welcome Ed - beautiful SLS!
Yep, it's a big burly brawler in the city but shrinks around you at higher speeds. Love it.
Pay close attention while driving and you'll see lots of looks and cellphone cameras at stoplights. I do love the somewhat "under the radar" nature of the SLS...to most people, it's just another Merc but to those who 'know' - it is a massively awesome supercar.

Very happy for you Ed, seems that this car is still attracting attention and will never get old. Here's hoping that we all have a future collectors car! Big congrats.
