This place is a joke.
First check the trans control unit for trans fluid intrusion, if there is none,we typically clear that code and if the car shifts fine we send it on it's way. If it does not shift fine then likely the trans control unit has failed internally.

I got the code at the track and checked the TCU for fluid and looked at the board. No fluid and the board look fine so I cleared the code. The car would fall on its face giving it any sort of medium to heavy throttle after the code was cleared.
I have never seen a EGS fail, have any of you fellas?

I have seen them fail. It's not very common, but neither are the mods on your car
Did you try clearing the fault and resetting the shift adaptations at the same time?

I have seen this fault numerous times. The majority of the time there are no side effects whatsoever. If you have cleared it , and it returns. You have an internal processing failure of the EGS control unit.

After checking my notes on my build, I have figured out what the code came from. If get a TCU tune from a vendor, and choose to do it with a different EGS other than the one that originally came with your car, this code will remain stored if you don't VIN code the new EGS.

Any updates?
My e55 is throwing the same code. Not sure how long it's been throwing it because I just got das.
My Tcu connector was wet and my board had a small spot of fluid inside.
I cleaned everything replaced the leaking trans connector and I'm still getting this code.
I think my Tcu is fried and the transmission shop will not look at my noisy transmission until I get that code cleared so I've ordered a new Tcu.
