Custom Modified 90mm TB for Weistec SC

I wanted to get more air into the engine and thought now would be a good time to upgrade form 82mm TB to 90mm. I talked to Chris aka Sir-Boost-a-Lot and he told me to send him the SC inlet and he'd modify it to fit the 90mm TB. I wanted it to have a factory like fit/finish (The Weistec kit quality was very high and I wanted to match) and Chris did a great job. Below is a comparison pic between 82mm TB and 90mm TB as well as pics of the SC inlet before/after install. Haven't driven the car much yet and I won't have before/after dynos because I changed quite a few things at once. I will give my 2 cents after some driving but first impressions are excellent. No CEL yet and drives like normal cruising.

Thanks Chris Job well done
82mm vs 90mm

Yeah, that's a big improvement and the finished S/C inlet Sir-Boost-a-Lot made came out great! Awesome!

I'm surprised Weistec doesn't offer a larger throttle body than the 82mm. We all know the S/C would definitely benefit from a 100mm plus..

Thank you! That's a ton more involved than yould think since the elbow is a lot smaller than 90mm at the turn. The whole thing has to be cut into pieces, material added, then welded back together and ported smooth. And you're right Havoc, this should be standard issue with the Weistec blower.

What TB is this? The elbow looks spot on!

EDIT: Found out what TB it is - BBK.

Thanks. He did a really good job with it. I think it will translate well in terms of power delivery. More air in and out = more power

Yea they should have come out with larger than 82mm

Yea it sure seems like alot of work. Can't even tell the inlet was cut up by looking at the final product

90mm BBK TB from a Hemi. Let me know if you need anything. Could probably stuff it in my suitcase next time I cross the pond if they aren't available over there

..and to think you started with our stock 74mm TB! You should take a picture comparing our stock 74mm vs this BBK 90mm!

It tells you something when the Boss 302 N/A comes with a 80mm stock!

Thanks for the offer, very kind of you. Might take you on that. I'm redesigning my air intake by flipping it to the other side where a bigger and proper filter will sit instead of the washer bottle and coolant expansion tank. That involves CNC'ing a new shroud (the one that says Weistec on it), which is where I'm currently at. If this is of interest I can get more than one machined. Just let me know.

Thanks for the offer Alex. I'm not interested in flipping sides since I need it on that side for the brakes. Now if you were able to find a way to run dual TB's like the 63's that would be interesting! CNC a new SC inlet wont be cheap

You can probably cut and weld two Weistec inlets? The spout for the bypass valve is off-centred which will make the whole job easier.

You will need another inlet, which will probably cost as much as designing and machining a new one though.
