What Brand Lowbeams & LED City Lights (194 Wedge Bulbs) Are You Using?
Prior to my accident everything on my car matched, as far as lighting (low beams, city lights, fog lights).
When I purchased the car years ago, I loved how crisp the light output was. The previous owner had an aftermarket set up bulbs. Therefore, I never bothered replacing them (also cause it had the upgraded clear projector lenses).
After the accident, the brand new OEM headlamps came with OEM bulbs (...4500k-ish). I ended up purchasing a set of Osram Cool Blue Intense bulbs. My reasons for doing so was the brighter output of light, along with the "whiter" look.
The bulbs sat in my drawer for over 2 months, I finally had time to put them on this past weekend.
I also decided to upgrade my old city lights / parking lights (since one of them were out). The ones I'm using now are shown below.
After installing the city lights, and one of the Osram low beam bulbs, this is what it looked like...
- Passenger side is the Osram Cool Blue Intense
- New city lights installed
- Driver side is OEM bulb
My brother said that his city lights are pure white (also LED's) and are the same color as his headlights. He couldn't find his extra pair of bulbs nor does he remember what brand they were or where he bought them from.
Do you guys have any sources for "pure white" 194 bulbs?
I'm using the Super White bulb. Sure looks purple to me.

Hey Mike,
Long time no see / talk.
I returned a set of wrong sized LED's to a shop. Therefore, I had credit and bought a new pair of 194's for $4 each. We'll see how they look.
If they turn-out to be the same, I'll reach out to you right away.
I'm just looking for something "light" (no pun intended). I'm not looking for something to blast out a bunch of light. Looking for something with minimal output.
The 194's (non-LED's) I used to use on my W208 back then were perfect. The only reason I stopped using them was because they would burn out every 2-3 months. Got really annoying. They were the normal bulbs with the blue tint on them.

Are you those Xenons or aftermarket bulb for halogen headlights? The left side looks good. How is it at night?

Haven't really driven the car at night yet. The sun is still practically out at 8pm. I have yet to see the light output difference at night... if any.
I need to have beams re-leveled to a higher point somehow. The top of the cut-off lines are pretty much at the bottom of the bumper of the car in front of me.
Tried manually adjusting it, but they're still too low. The dealer took a look at it a few weeks back and said that it can be done, but it's a pain. Is it really that hard? I don't know what's involved. I always thought it was a simply plug-in of a computer and... done.
They said cost was going to be 1.5 - 2 hours labor. Gee whiz.

Nice. They're real white.
I'm hoping the ones I bought aren't as bright. I'm not looking to light up the entire lamp. A simple "white dot" is fine with me. Going to slap them on tomorrow and see what they're like. Going to post pics afterwards.
