Lowering W211 with Airmatic via DAS

I have received many requests for the following info, so here you go.

Select E class

W211

Control Units

Chassis

Suspsension

Adaptations

Level calibration

Use the function keys as displayed to raise/lower the ride of the car until the desired result is achieved.
Note Voltages once vehicle ride height is set - in this case rear is at 3.25V which is out of spec

Check front height and measure

Check rear height and measure

Put jack under rear of car

Jack up rear of car body until rear voltage is at 3.00V -measure the difference in ride height from previous reading. Now RAISE the front this much and finish level calibration

Values to enter

DAS confirms values

New level accepted

Check new level values that have been stored

Checking vehicle level

Final stored values. The car thinks there is a load and allows rear to be greater than 3.00v and lowers the front to keep vehicle level. This is why we added height to the front after raising the rear on the jack.
This is only required if you want to really lower the rear.

Since this method was different than what I had used in the past, I thought I would give it a try.

I must be lame though, because after doing all the steps (following them nearly exactly), and lowering the jack in the back (after disconnecting the SD), instead of the front coming down, the car raised its sagging rear...

One thing to note was that my preferred settings for the front resulted in voltages that were out of spec. So I had to raise the front a bit.

Might be because this car has a US-spec system, and it seems to know it is US spec, but couldn't find a way to version code the suspension for locale.

Anyone else get this to work on a US car?

This is a version independent setting. Tellme step by step how you are doing this and I will try and help you out.

This method does NOT work for ABC cars, but I worked out how to trick the ABC computer too on the new S class, but that's another story.

Thanks for the offer! I'll do it again tomorrow and take pics and note values. Tonight is celebration night.

Stories about ABC would be cool too.

scorchie, the most improtant issue is the order that you do things and keeping the values within acceptable parameters.
As for ABC we've got an S55 in right now having a full upgrade, so I'll do the same next weekend if I remember, but taking and posting so many pics is a royal pain in the behind.

the pictures are all gone, could anyone re-upload by any chance? and does anyone has any idea how much your dealer charge you for asking them to do this to your car?

Do a search, there is a DIY (do it yourself) thread. Print it and bring it in to them.

someone should do a step by step with screen shots of how to do this, why are there so many secrets with our cars

I want to print it out and give to a local workshop who has the tools, but does not know how to do it
