2014 E63 - pricing / lease questions

Thanks for the info here - I've been through a lot of threads here - buying guides and pricing info has been great.

I've been mainly over on the X166 boards with my GL450 - but have been snooping around here the last week or so as I'm looking to replace my BMW550. Located in the Bay Area,Ca

I've settled on either a E63/E63S or the Porsche 911S

Anyway, with respect to the E63, would be interested if people could share any information on pricing at dealers, if going the lease route.

What have people been able to obtain (even if only as a commitment) from dealers as to a percentage off MSRP? Not including USAA etc.

I know I would be subject to residual and MF that exist when I would take delivery, however, have people been successful in getting dealers to committ to the MBUSA buy rate?

Any insights as to what might be expected for a residual for a 36 mth lease (maybe based on history)? I know AMGs typically depreciate significantly.

My general sense from talking to a local AMG dealer is that there isn't excessive demand - ie seems they hadn't placed a sedan order yet - just a wagon.

Interested in any feedback folk may have. Maybe we could populate this thread with such pricing info for people to refer to as people start negotiating and eventually taking delivery.

Here are some numbers I can share but, they are not final. I don't believe there are any dealers ready yet to give a final numbers since there are still missing pricing on several options of the ordering guide, they are supposed to be available in the next following weeks. The numbers they gave me were based on the 2013 model and they expect better residual for the 2014: 36 month lease aprox 65% and 48 month aprox 53% based on a 10,000 miles per year. I am doing European Delivery with a 4.5 % discount and even though I was one of the first orders I still haven't done the financing. Hopefully this can help an as soon as I have the numbers I'll post them wish me luck

Zero chance that the residual will be 65% for 3 years (10k miles)... zero. The 48 month term will not be 53% either. MBCC has learned their lesson years ago doing aggressive residuals. They used to do this coupled with higher money factors to lock people in but still took a bath on the AMG fleets all coming back at lease term. No one could trade out early due to the high payoffs.

Expected std mileage leases (15k) residuals for 36 months in the mid 50's with a 3 pt bump for 10k miles. Expect std mileage leases for 48 months in the 40's.

These are AMG cars they dont hold their value and the factory knows it.

Vic is probably right on the residual numbers, at least there is no chance they will be as bad as the BMW M5, if the residual value is the primary factor on a AMG purchase decision, then Porsche is a better choice. Whims are expensive and sometimes unjustified, otherwise a used car is the best value after depreciation, or a M5 2013 do to the lack of sales. To bad the 911 doesn't have more luggage room for my scenario

Porsche 991's (non S) at 24 months std mileage 15k was 75% = amazing. But that program has run dry.

I actually personally would rather have the BMW M5 set up- 54% 36 month residua (10k) with a .00127 money factor--- yes you pay more depreciation but also less interest so you can essentially get out of the car faster if both the AMG and the M5 depreciated at fixed rates (which they wont). The MBCC rate in May (lowest) was .00175 which is about 100 basis points higher than BMW.

This is if you lease your cars.

From a dig I have no doubt; any swinging phallic symbol can mash and go... Id like to see who has the faster car from a rolling run. I have owned two M157 engines tuned and have 2 S63tu engines now; the DCT will definitely help out the M car in stock vs stock races. Both my M157's were tuned and would walk M cars. The M cars still dont have fully developed tunes. There are some cheesy companies selling resistor box tunes that attach to the ECU and trick it to think its not pushing out enough boost thus creating increased boost But this is a bad way of tuning and its causing issues. Once some unlocks the F series cars we should see some good gains. Unlocking these ECU's is incredibly hard from what I hear on the inside. The M157 was unlocked in a very short time.

I love the R8- its amazing from handling to looks to sound. Its not the fastest car ive ever had but its one of the best.

Thank you for the info, I'm getting the E63 S as a family car with a kick, and hopefully later team it with the new GT3 3.8. I got an addiction to performance schools and so far its been a blast. Cheers..

I'm pretty sure Euro delivery means you need to pay cash... check on that if that's what you're planning to do.

I'm expecting the 36 month residual to be around 58% with 10k miles. I think it will be bumped 1% or 2% higher than the 2013. What they will do with the money factor is anyone's guess. The car I ordered will be stickered @101,000 and I am expecting a mid $1300 payment including tax for 36 months with 10K a year. I am also getting a pretty good discount based upon my previous relationship with the dealer.

I've been noodling the 911 also - I think there are still some to be had with that program still running through end of month.

All this information gives me a good idea to model it.

What is a pretty good discount nowadays?

Do the dealers get trunk cash on these cars? Wonder what profit a dealer makes on an E63 at MSRP.

I thought AMGs are not eligible for the European Delivery discount?

Only C63 and SL63 are eligible for ED 7% discount, that is why I was only able to get 4.5%

you guys wanting discounts will have to wait until more of them are on the street... Dealers are still fighting for allocations right now. My dealer told me he only has two allocations for the first production run (whenever that is), and he has 9 people on the list for the car.

ED with financing can only be done with BMW in Canada. You need to pay in full for MB. The US is probably different.

We also don't get a discount on any car let alone M or AMG.

I wonder if the M5 situation is as bad in Canada as the US. I am itching for a new car.

For a 2013 E63 I was offered a 3 yr/10k mileage lease .00225 mf (5.4% APR) with a 62% residual. I passed.

So am I. I saw a 2013 E63 recently though. Looked great in white. I know if I passed as soon as I saw a 2014 I'd regret it, so I'm going to stay the course.

thx for thread...great stuff - the 2014 pix looks great, esp in the wagon.

curious if any of you have done comparisons of the 2009 vs. 2010 E63's. and also to the 2014? i'd be very curious as to ownership experiences. thx.

p.s. from my experience, it's best to skip first model yr of car, esp european.
