Torn-up front axle brand new car
My e63 model S hardly has 2,500 miles and it is at the dealer being repaired for over 1 week. According to the dealer, the axle is completely torn-up and an engine mount is shot. Major problems. I do not abuse the car and, even if I did, it's built for that. The problem started a few weeks after I dropped the car at the dealer to get the front diff oil change that is required on model S at 1750 miles. Does anyone think the problems with the axle and engine mount could have been caused by the technician doing something (or not doing something right)? I just find the timing of the work done to the front end of the car and the problems that surfaced a few weeks later too coincidental not to be related.

Sounds like either abuse or an original assembly issue to me.
This is a new drivetrain. If it breaks, I would expect repairs to take some time.
And cars aren't "built for" abuse.

Certainly sounds suspicious. You'd be the first guy on the forums to have an issue like this. I wonder if they drained the fluid and forgot to fill it up again...

There is no front diff service required. The rear diff requires service only if you have an LSD. Since you have the S model and have LSD, then it should have been the rear diff.
I am betting you hit something or drove over something that got caught up in the front axel. The techs should not have touched anything in the front of your car for the first service.

Maybe damaged during vehicle transport. Seen a carrier use the front tie rod/axle to clamp a new car down. So, maybe over time, it got worse to the point of where it's at now.

Damage during transport is a myth... never happens... Or maybe it does I'm not sure... Only thing I remember is two men in black with MB sign on their suits that came to my front door, made me look at the tip of a pen and "bam"... flash of red light"!

My car is going in the shop on Thursday, bad noise coming from right front of the car when I turn to the left, sounds like a bad u-joint. What was your car doing(OP) when you found out front end was messed up, anything out of the ordinary?

The best part of these threads is when the op never comes back to update the rest of us. Makes the thread nearly useless if it's an isolated issue and therefore not common.

After I get my car back I will let you know what was the problem and what caused it. I'm sure this is just some isolated issues, all it takes is one or two bad casts in a part to let go,, out of how many cars built? Just another reason I won't tune my car, WARRANTY.

Cars are just machines. They break --sometimes for rare reasons. When my mother's 2014 E350 was delivered all of the brake pads were defective and made the car vibrate when we pushed the brakes so they had to be replaced. These things happen.

Thank you! Agreed with you on the tune -- one of the reasons I chose a car with a ridic amount of stock hp/torque so I didn't get that mod/tune bug...

Ok, got my car back from the dealer. Had the rear diff fluid changed and also engine oil and filter changed(1850 miles). As for the front end clicking noise, they just had to clean out my front halfshaft/ujoint area. A couple days before the noise started, I was driving down a stone/screenings road(about 5 miles), so I guess the front end got caked with small stones and that is what was all over the underside of my car. They cleaned all the small stones out and now there is no clicking noise. No torn up front axle... Kind of strange but everything seems to be good.
