Renntech Tune - How much boost?
Compared to 14.5psi for the non-PP and 18.8psi for the PP, anyone know how much peak boost the latest Renntech tune is making? Also, how does this compare to the other vendor tunes available?

Probably because no one knows and Renntech isnt a sponsor here.
Not sure about RT but other tuners are probably boosting over or at 21psi... depends on how strong the tune (which isnt necesarily better due to engine safety)

Porsche 911 Turbo S 2014! E63S 14, Audi S8 13, CLS63 12, E550 12, C63 09, all tuned
Renntech boost is 18.8, same as stock PP. the difference is that the ECU on the stock PP tapers off the boost after 3800 rpm , Renntech tune holds the boost all the way to 5800 rpm.
This is why Renntech now is going to bigger turbos to increase boost to over 22.

Also - Any idea the % of how much larger the turbos will be?
And my last question is what HP will this get them to?
I'm looking to do this as soon as possible... Thanks!

So if renntech goes to bigger turbo will they have to write a new tune for the boost or are you saying that it will happen inherently?

They also expect to drop into 9's with 140mph trap...
I have the car coming in November, hopefully the set up will be ready by then.
So far,did only the ECU in wife's G63 and the difference in acceleration is staggering.

Don't all tuners at this point in time either pry the ecu apart or drill a hole to flash the ecu? Both of these methods can easily be detected by a dealer if that concerns anyone. Hopefully they come out with a solution that doesn't need that to happen soon.

Both can be detected but the hole is about as obvi as it gets versus other tuners warming up the glue and seperating it. If they do it right its very hard to tell it has been seperated. There is no actual seal that if broken can be detected.

Talked to one tuner and he mentioned that he's heard of some issues with breaking the PC board on the separation method and in his opinion the drilled method was safer. Not sure if this is true or not. He said they'd Epoxy the hole closed sand it and paint it so it looks unmolested but it would surely be identifiable if compared to new. He offers the Renntech version.

Tuners secret is to put the ECU in a toaster over so the adhesive loosens enough to pry it apart. If there's a screw you got screwed...lol.

seeing we did a few of them here, renntech does put a small hole. No big deal. And it is highly doubtful anyone would ever notice. And seeing I work closely with the MB dealership (#1 midwest dealer for MB) that offers the tune at the time of purchase... they never give anyone a hard time warranty wise. Now if it was done at Joes discount tuner... then i can see it being an issue.
we scan the vehicle before and after the tune. the only fault i have seen is the torque curve which is ignored when they re-program but the sds picks it up.
Now, not saying that it is a perfect world here... I did have an issue with a 2012 s65 going into limp, but tech said it was the tune... turned out after I drove it, made it go into limp, it was a faulty upstream sensor... told him to replace, no problem since.
so I am sure some dealerships will cry "bloody murder" as some techs do... but they are just stuck in the past...
Today is different, people will buy a $200k vehicle and toss another $40k easily at it to make it their creation.
Personally i like RENNtechs tune and after dealing with Brabus and Kleeman... I will only stick with RENNtech, I also believe they will outlast Brabus ... hell I don't even know how Kleeman is holding on sorry Kleeman, wish it was different

Dealer offers a tune. Come on. Do they also say it will or won't void the warranty and have mbusa backing them up..
See its all the stuff above that keeps me from getting a tune. Even now it seems there is inconsistency with tuners and their re-tuners as to the specifics of the process.
I'm good. I'll stick with the slow pp e63

The only way the warranty will be voided is if the unit modified caused the damage. just like with anything ... from adding a radar detector to plug in the cigarette lighter GPS units...

So modding an ecu to change engine boost and or timing that leads to engine failure would not be covered? (the Engine) Sounds about right--- the dealer is offering no added warranty here base on the facts presented here.
