Drag Race: Mercedes F1 Car vs. Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series
The video I’m about to show you saddens me, and at the same time, makes me smile like an idiot. Why? Because these two glorious Mercedes-powered behemoths represent the end of an era.
Both cultural icons, the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series and the W03 Formula 1 car, ran against each other to find out who reigned supreme, but in all honesty, they should be banding in solidarity.
With Formula 1’s introduction of the not-so-nice-sounding turbo V6s, and the sad end of the magnificent 6.2L naturally aspirated V8’s production, we may never have these noises sending chills up our spines again.
This, as it happens, seems to be the last hurrah for these two amazing cars. I doubt we’ll ever see the day when these noises reemerge as the pinnacle of design and power, so sit back, turn up your speakers, and bask in the glory that once was.
