Mansory Tuned G500 Cabriolet May Be the Loudest SUV Ever

Mercedes AMG, as a company, just knows how to make an exhaust sound like Thor’s Hammer striking down foes with the almighty power of lightning and thunder. Or, in other words, AMG exhausts have a tendency to sound like brimstone and hellfire. They pop, crackle, and scare young children and the elderly. They sound terrific. However, this next video has to be one of the loudest exhausts ever found on any Mercedes, and it isn’t even an AMG.

What we have here is a Mercedes G500 cabriolet, tuned by Mansory. While the exterior has received a few upgrades, the real change is in the engine bay. Mansory tuned the 5.5L V8 from 385 horsepower to a whopping 700 horsepower.

It’s got new pistons, new connecting rods, bearings, crankshaft, cylinder heads that are able to stand up to the enormous power jump, and a few other pieces thrown in for good measure. But the real standout is the custom exhaust. Or rather what sounds like no exhaust. Honestly, this G500 cabriolet sounds like a racecar, just straight exhausts back.

So what do you all think? Is this awesome, or is it just too damn loud?
