W204 C300 Race Car Is Truly Awesome
Strange as It May Seem, This RWD 6-Speed C300 Race Car Is as Cool as the Day Is Long
We love unusual builds, and re-purposing a 6-speed C300 into an endurance race car is right up there at the front of that list. The folks over at FCP Euro are taking this W204, and campaigning it in the American Endurance Racing series. AER races go down at big-name tracks, all across North America. As such, FCP Euro is debuting this car at Road Atlanta this weekend.
Starting life as an unassuming C300, this 204 has the rare 6-speed manual, making it a perfect candidate for track use. We all know that the non-AMG versions of the 204 were rather soft, so like any car getting prepped for racing, this one got stripped down to bare metal. And then the real work began.

Safety is a big priority, so as standard, a cage was fitted, along with a racing seat and harness. The real performance upgrades come from AMG’s own parts-bin, with big 6-piston rotors up front and multi-piston units out back.
Suspension was changed to coil-over style struts, with AMG control arms to keep things planted, and add a bit more useful camber as well. For reliability purposes, the engine was mostly left alone, because endurance races are won by consistency.
