Bizarre MB 250SE Find Could Be Yours for $10K

This 1968 Mercedes-Benz has us thinking that maybe we should start a weekly post showcasing some of the oddest MB finds. Because this 250SE would certainly be a great one to kick off the festivities, given the fact that its powered by a V8 Chevy Corvette crate motor.

Even wilder, the ’68 Mercedes has apparently only racked up 375 miles with the engine, as detailed in a Jalopnik report. But the rest of the car is in need of some work. Or as Jalopnik puts it, the car is teetering right at the brink of “rat rod” status.

The front crossmember and the base of the wheel arches are rotting. And the rear corners need some body work, as well. We’re not sure how that will actually weigh on Garage Kept Motors‘ $9,900 asking price.

A photo of the car’s underpinning shows that the suspension appears to be in solid condition, aside from a few rusty spots that probably would be fairly easy to repair.

The interior has succumbed to some years of wear and tear, including a few puncture wounds in the seats. But overall, the MB’s cockpit isn’t in bad condition, considering the car is nearly 50-years-old. It does, however, appear to be missing some of the key equipment for an A/C.

In addition to a ‘Vette motor, the car has seemingly picked up some others parts outside of the Mercedes family along its journey through the years. But maybe that just makes it more unique? What do you think?
