The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive is the world’s first electric vehicle to circle the Nurburgring’s Nordschleife in under eight minutes! It lapped the ‘Ring with an official and certified time of 7:56.234 minutes. The SLS AMG Electric Drive makes 751hp and 738 lb.ft of torque with power going to all four wheels.

According to according to Ola Källenius, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, “Mercedes-AMG impressively shows the potential of the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive with the new record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Mercedes-AMG is the first vehicle manufacturer which makes it possible to circle the Nordschleife in under eight minutes with an electrically-powered series production vehicle. This record run is another proof for our constant innovative vigour.” Indeed. This latest success comes on the heels of the SLS AMG GT3 winning the 24 Hours of Nurburgring.
