Mercedes Benz Offers Illuminated Three-Pointed Star

Mercedes-Benz just revealed this new illuminated Three-Pointed Star grille emblem, available as a dealer-installed option on the 2014 E-Class, 2013+ GL-Class, 2012+ M-Class and 2006+ CLS-Class. Benz promises the back-lit star will be available on other cars too, but no word on whether they’ll be installing future examples at the factory. The “night-light” Three-Pointed Star uses LED and light tube technology to look all fancy n’stuff and illuminates when the key fob is used to unlock your car. If this new bit of lighting takes off for Mercedes, we’re guessing you’ll see similar takes from competitor OEMs in short order.
