1957 300SL Barn Find
The new SLS is Mercedes’ halo car, but the original is the one that first introduced the crazy idea of having doors that open “up” instead of “out.” It’s a rare car to be sure, which makes this barn find even more amazing.
This one was found in the UK, and according to the for-sale listing, has been off the road since the 60’s. This particular specimen has been afflicted by bits of rust and is missing a few trim pieces. It’s drivetrain has also been dismantled and removed from the car; they still have it, but the engine and everything is in pieces.
Hopefully, a skilled restorer will save this classic from a rusty grave. The SL is the classic supercar, and it would be a shame to see this one go.
