AMG-Swapped E320 Wagon Is a Sleeper Classic

This 1995 E320 on Bring-A-Trailer is a sleeper if there ever was one. Beneath its well-preserved stock exterior hides a host of tasteful OEM upgrades, most notably an AMG-built 3.6-liter engine that the seller claims is good for around 300 horsepower.

The car has been lovingly maintained by its current owner, who has a stack of receipts to include with the sale. The air conditioning system has been overhauled, and even the self-leveling suspension works.

The black interior is in great shape, and is set off nicely by burl wood trim. It’s been upgraded with heated sport seats and a steering wheel, both from a 500E. The rear-facing third row seat is a nice touch that you don’t see in wagons anymore.

The suspension benefits from 500E parts as well, with springs and sway bars from the legendary machine finding their home underneath this car. Bilstein struts find their way up front, while the self-leveling suspension is said to be fully functional — not something you’d expect out of a 21-year-old Mercedes. The cherry on top is the forged aluminum wheels from a CLK, which look right at home and don’t draw any undue attention.

The seller is asking $10k to drive this one home — you’d be hard-pressed to build a similar sleeper for less.
