Check Your Volume Before Listening to this C63 AMG Roar

Want to make your C63 louder? These two thunderous C-class AMGs will teach you how to out-rev anyone.

Remember the 2008-2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG? You know, the one that says “6.3 L “on the fender but it’s actually a 6.2-liter V8? Well, they sound pretty spectacular from the factory, but for many, that’s not enough. Often when choosing an aftermarket exhaust there’s some balance of tone, volume, and a hint of style that goes into it. We came across this video by superlennyo that threw the balance out the window. The uploader then writes, “This surely is the loudest C63 AMG that I have ever heard.” Loudest ever? Have a listen and tell us if you think he’s right.

Why does the C63 sound so beastly? Well, by European V8 standards, 6.2 liters is practically a big block. Especially when the garden variety E-Class used to come with a 4.0-liter V8. The black one is rocking a set of straight pipes. The blue one has an iPE exhaust, and it sounds wicked. Just like the black one. The straight pipes have a little more crackle to them. They’d probably have a gnarly backfire when you snap from on-throttle to off-throttle. We’ve had a few straight-pipes on our machines. If you’re looking for loud with some deep tone that iPE exhaust makes a great case for a loud C63 AMG.

We did a little digging on the iPE site and to our surprise the exhaust features a “Valvetronic” system. Huh? It’s basically exhaust cutouts, but we’re guessing a little nicer than the old hot-rodder trick. Straight pipes will always piss off your neighbors, but with those valves you can choose when and how to harass the Joneses. They have a full exhaust with headers and the whole shebang.

Would you rock the pricey iPE exhaust or go full straight pipe? Join us in the forums and let us know what you think.
