X-Class Customization by Carlex Design Europe is Mouth-watering

New interior treatments by European designer Carlex Design makes the X-Class an ultra-luxury masterpiece.

Getting a new car customized is like the sunrise — it simply just happens. While some folks like to leave a car stock, others like to push the boundaries of design and come up with some wild interior and exterior mods. One such company who makes those visions a reality is Carlex Design, and they’ve shown off two new creations based of the X-Class pickup the above video from Gallery Automobiles.

The first example is dubbed the Exy, and while mechanical upgrades aren’t the focus of this build, the looks carry this X-Class to new heights of cool. Trucks are supposed to be rugged and Carlex maximizes the macho look with carbon fiber everywhere, including wheel arches, a bug deflector, grille, front fascia and more touches throughout. Big mudder style tires are a minimum requirement, too. A unique rear buttress works great with the black and grey rear graphics too, adding to the extreme look. Hop inside, and the dark tones continue, with custom upholstered seats and a continuation of the carbon fiber trim.

If you want your interior to stand out and pop with color, you can opt for the second style in the video. Instead of just custom upholstery on the seats, the entire seat is customized, in a racing bucket seat style. Red leather with contrasting white stitching, piping, and a wavy flow pattern really draws your eye in, even if the color might not be your style. Red accents continue through the interior, including matching style rear seats, leather console, and dash.

Carlex has shown that they can make two very different styles for two very different clients, it’s just a shame that those clients won’t be stateside, and only 999 of these will be available for purchase. For a country that purchases the most pickups by far, it’s amazing that Mercedes hasn’t considered this market yet. Perhaps one day they’ll surprise us.
