Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Drifts Into Next Dimension

We talk about 1/4-mile times a lot, so let’s change it up and check out this E55 drift missile.

Drifting is one of those things that you either get, or you don’t. One thing that’s for sure is that it has exploded in popularity, and now anything with drive wheels at the rear has been turned into a drift machine in one way or another.

Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Drift Missile

As it stands, a Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG has the goods to start as a good foundation. Those of us who enjoy a bit of sliding action know there’s some pitfalls, however. Foot operation for the parking brake, for one, but also the ever-present forces of traction control. As we know, it can never be fully turned off.

Well, FCP Euro likes to showcase cars in dramatic fashion, and one of their own has created this purpose-built E55 drifter. You’ll notice some things about the interior of Denis Ivanov’s E55 that are a bit different from stock, such as the hand-operated e-brake, and an all new steering wheel, and the occupant of the passenger seat.

However, the really impressive part is Ivanov’s driving. Long graceful slides at Sonoma Raceway look easy in the AMG. Accompanied by a V8 roar, we just can’t get enough. If you need to kill a few minutes and want to see a really unique drift build, this is the video for you.
