Edmunds Shakes Down the 2012 C63 AMG Black

We don’t rely on Edmunds to supply us with thrilling car reviews a la Top Gear or the Drive network. We’d expect that type of thing for the C63 AMG Black, but Edmunds address the car a little more soberly, or with some objectivity. Some say their videos have been boring, but I’d say they’re actually more informative than anything.

Think of it like a video spec sheet.

That said, the Mercedes C63 AMG Black invites drama. There’s no getting around the 510 hp V8 and and 457 lb-ft of torque without it. The sound is key. A throaty V8 burble and growl make every stab of the accelerator a cry for attention. Even the stolid drivers of Edmunds give into the fun at the end by pulling some very Chris Harris-esque driving maneuvers.
