2007 Weistec Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG - Fastest G55 in the World Home

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class doesn’t need to be fast to be cool, but extra horsepower doesn’t hurt, either, so when it comes to cool off-roaders, a G-Class in AMG guise is the R-134a of SUVs.

Weistec Engineering has taken a 2007 G55 AMG and increased its cool factor even more by creating the fastest G55 in the world. With the ability to gobble the 1/4-mile in 12.21 seconds at 111 mph, just thinking about the Weistec G55 gives me a brain freeze.

In stock form, the 2007 G55 AMG produced 493 horsepower. Weistec hasn’t provided a post-mod horsepower figure, but with a 1/4-mile time nearing 11 seconds in a 6,000-pound SUV, I’d predict output is hovering around the mid 700s. Even though this G55 is as fast as it is, the modifications are pretty simple: M113K Weistec supercharger with 3.0L blower, 82-mm throttle body, headers with stock mufflers, stock transmission and stock motor running 100 octane.

It also just so happens this particular G55 AMG has nearly 100,000 miles on the clock.

See it embarrass fast cars at Famoso Raceway in the video below, then join the discussion on its dedicated forum thread.
