The Mercedes GLK is dying. In its place we are getting the new GLC-Class. Now don’t be alarmed if you are a fan of the smaller SUV — the name may be disappearing, but the new GLC is the same GLK you have grown to love, just with a new badge on the back.

To give you a heads-up of what the new vehicle will be like, our spy photographers have found one driving around wrapped in just a bit of camo. To make room for the smaller GLA, the new GLC-Class is a bit wider and a touch longer with an increased wheelbase to improve interior space.

That growth makes the GLC a better competitor for the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 in regards to size and space. The drivetrain will share pieces from the new C-Class and the M-Class. Expect a new 1.8L turbo gasoline unit to make up the bottom of the range. The current 2.1L diesel and V6 motors should carry on. There is still no word on an AMG variant, but perhaps there will be an AMG Sport model arriving in a few years.

As always, we will be sure to keep you informed of any more news as soon as we get it. For now, just enjoy the gallery of this new Benz.
