What Can’t a C63 AMG Beat in a Drag Race?
MBWorld forums by RawBenz posted an interesting question recently: “We were debating what the biggest hp/fastest C63 AMG is, non supercharged and what mods?”
It is really quite intriguing. Of course being the amazing people you are, it didn’t take long to get the list of all the fastest C63s we know of, complete with sorting by modifications, forced induction vs naturally aspirated, and more.
Forum member Dads C63 holds the current MBWorld record with his nitrous equipped car turning in a time of 10.394. But what about a car that just has a few mods? Can that get into the 10s? And how do you really explain what that kind of speed looks like?
Well, just ask forum member Humberto Ferrer. His C63 has little more than some exhaust work, a good tune, and a better thermostat. And he’s still able to destroy most other supercars on the drag strip. To prove that, we have a pair of videos below showing Ferrer’s car running first against a Ferrari 458 and then against the mighty Mercedes SLS.
Should we be surprised that neither supercar stood a chance against the C63? Feel free to giggle along with the pilot and cameraman at the end of the SLS video.
