Mercedes Unwraps 2017 SLC

Mercedes-Benz has lifted the cover off the 2017 SLC, and it seems certain that the venerable marque should have yet another hit on their hands.

Forgoing the typical teaser for the Detroit auto show, Mercedes instead released the video below for the new SLC roadster, which is set to make its big debut next month as the SLC300 and the Mercedes-AMG SLC43.

The SLC300 will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. And as you’d expect, the higher-performance SL43 will pack substantially more power under the hood: a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 362 horses and 384 pound-feet of torque, according to a Motor Authority report.

Both models will be equipped with MB’s 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission and Dynamic Select system, which enables the driver to adjust multiple driving systems in the car, like the engine, transmission, steering, and suspension, all with the turn of a knob.

Mercedes says the SLC300 will have a 0 to 60 mph time of 5.7 seconds, while the SLC43 will clock in at 4.6 seconds.
