Mercedes Teaches the Subtle Art of Snow Drifting

By -

Spend your winter wisely by honing your driving skills in Sweden piloting the finest Mercedes performance cars.

For most that live in the snow belt, winter is something to truly dread. It means snow and ice covered roads, not to mention car-destroying salt. But winter driving doesn’t have to be all bad. In fact, Mercedes would love to teach you the art of embracing that slick stuff while learning how to expertly control your car with virtually zero traction. And they’re doing just that with their Winter Sporting driving school class.

The course takes place in the gorgeous confines of Sweden, where small groups get to experience serious winter thrills with stunning backdrops. Skilled instructors lead small groups across snowy tracks and even ice-covered lakes. Even better, classes are tailored to each individual’s unique driving skills. Thus, even if you fancy yourself quite adept at driving in the frozen muck, you can still learn something.

But don’t think that you’ll be tooling around in some SUV with studded snow tires. Mercedes has selected a host of exciting thrill rides for their Winter Sporting event. The kinds of cars that require, you know, skill to drive on slippery surfaces. That lineup includes the Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4MATIC+, C63 S Coupe, GT S, and GT 63 S 4MATIC+ 4-Door Coupe. Talk about some tail-happy fun!

Mercedes offers a number of different packages, depending on your skill level and interest. There’s an entry level class for those simply looking to improve their winter driving skills. Step up to the premium level, and you get to learn more advanced techniques while also putting your feet up in the AMG Lounge afterward. Where we’re betting you can enjoy a nice steaming cup of hot chocolate, too.

Mercedes also offers extensive packages that include lodging, food and drink, and airport transfers. To us, that seems like a pretty cool way to spend a week or two. After all, what else are you going to do this winter? Sit around and watch sappy Christmas movies? Personally, we’d rather be honing our skills and ripping across icy lakes, thank you very much.

Even better, prices start out at just over $3,500 U.S., which is pretty reasonable. Most classes are limited to around 20 participants, however, so you’ll want to act quickly. You can find all the info and book your dream Mercedes winter experience by heading over here.
