Expedition Motor Company has launched their new Midnight Blue ‘Wolf’ Gelandewagen, bringing modern comfort to a timeless classic.

The Mercedes Gelandewagen is a cool machine with a long history. Over the years it has been built in a number of body styles but till recently, you could really only get the 4-door version from Mercedes themselves. If you wanted a 2-door, or an open top version, or a diesel, you had to import. Well now, if you wanted all of those things in your G-Wagen, Expedition Motor Company has you covered. Meet Midnight Blue Wolf.

Starting off with a full nut and bolt restoration, this 1000 hour build takes everything that is awesome about a vintage G-wagen and makes it better. The rugged truck wasn’t very easy to drive, so EMC paired a 0M602 diesel engine with a 722.6 automatic transmission to make life that much easier. Prefer a manual? EMC will also have no problem reviving the 250GD’s original gearbox for you. The rest of the drivetrain is refreshed to its original heavy duty specs. To ride better and feel better, the suspension and brakes have been updated, too.

The interior is also a newly refined place to spend time. Stitched vinyl covers just about every surface now, and a papyrus combo makes the seats stand out to those peeking into the open top off-roader. You’ll also find some modern amenities when peeking in, too. Bluetooth and other connectivity features are available, so you’re not missing out.

We already know the type of buyer for this rig, too. They simply must have a Mercedes-Benz off-roader, it has to be a G-wagen, and it has to be definitively unique. Alex Levin, founder of EMC states, “for enthusiasts looking to separate themselves from the pack with something unique, look no further than these G-Wagen Wolf’s.”

How much? EMC has the Wolf priced at $125,000. What you’re getting is essentially a brand new Mercedes 250GD, with upgrades, and it’s honestly way cooler and more capable than the glitzy current generation of the G-wagen. Besides, the open top part is what really sells it.
